Alain Wong teaches vernacular jazz dances from the 1930's-1940's Swing Era, his specialty being Charleston and Lindy Hop, the original swing dance. He also competes and performs as part of the Cat's Corner swing dance school and the Swing Connexion studio, recently placing second in the Classic and Team divisions at the 2006 Canadian Swing Championships, and second in the Classic division at the 2006 American Lindy Hop Championships. By day, Alain is a business/marketing consultant (B.Com McGill, Certificate of Law UdM) and paints t-shirts in his spare time.
In Montreal, he spreads the joy of dance through his involvement with the Cat's Corner dance studio, the McGill Swing Kids and the Marianopolis Swing Dance club. Past teaching gigs include Vanier College, Cegep St-Laurent, St-Georges school, College de Rosemont, and performances for many organizations such as L.O.V.E (Leave Out ViolEnce), Santropol Roulant and the Centre d'Histoire de Montréal.
